This major conference addresses the theme of Dickens’s Style. Speakers will focus on a variety of topics, but all the papers will be united by careful consideration of Dickens’s imaginative writing style. Many of the conference speakers have published critical works on Dickens in recent years that have demonstrated that the textures of his writing are intimately bound up with larger concerns, drawing on fields including science, politics and religion. Anticipating the Dickens bicentennary in 2012, the conference brings together these and other voices in order to identify and extend this important strand of recent work on Dickens.
