First lecture of the new WMC 2012-13 Lecture Series.

This lecture, “Active Citizenship and The Humanities: The Victorian Model” will be presented by Professor Eugenio Biagini, Professor of Modern and Contemporary History at the University of Cambridge, and Dr Marcella Sutcliffe, AHRC Associate at the University of Cambridge.  Much of the background research comes out of the early years and activities of Working Men’s College, now the oldest surviving adult education institution in Europe.

The lecture starts at 7pm on Tuesday 23 October 2012 at the Working Men’s College (44 Crowndale Road NW1 1TR) and you can join us first for refreshments from 6.30pm.  Fuller details about the subject are on the attached flyer and at the end of this email.
